Fibu Receives SEK 4.26 Million from Klimatklivet to Scale Bio-Based Foam
Hallstahammar, Sweden – March 2026
Fibu AB has been granted climate investment funding from Klimatklivet, a program administered by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket), to support the scaling of its patented bio-based foam technology.
The funding will enable the expansion of Fibu’s production capabilities as the company advances the commercialization of its material solution.
Fibu develops a renewable foam material based on wood fibers designed to replace fossil-based plastic foams used in various applications such as packaging, insulation, and acoustics.
The investment marks an important step toward bringing the technology closer to wider industrial use and contributing to the transition toward more sustainable materials.
“We are grateful for the support from Klimatklivet and the confidence in our work to develop renewable alternatives to fossil-based materials. This milestone strengthens the foundation for the scale-up and capital raising we are currently pursuing,” says Majid Madadi, CEO of Fibu.
Klimatklivet is a Swedish government investment program that supports local projects that reduce greenhouse-gas emissions and accelerate the transition to a climate-neutral economy.
